Montage, sampling, cut & paste are Aleksander Kolkowski’s tools, although his equipment originates from the pre-electr(on)ic age. Edison phonographs and gramophones, record and play wax cylinders and shellac records. Live recordings meet the sound of the mechanically amplified Stroh violin and ethnographic cylinder recordings from the sound archive of the British Library.
