Carolin Emcke

Carolin Emcke is a philosopher and journalist. In her books and essays she writes about collective identities, human rights, violence, racism, witnessing, but also sexuality and desire (Against Hate, Echoes of Violence, How We Desire, Weil es sagbar ist). Emcke has received several awards for her work and achievements, including the Carl von Ossietzky Prize for Contemporary History and Politics and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. Her most recent publication is Journal – Tagebuch in Zeiten der Pandemie (2021).
