Gloria Meynen

Gloria Meynen (Berlin/Vienna) is a cultural and media analyst. She studied German philology, cultural studies, and philosophy in Cologne, Bonn, Bochum, Constance, and Berlin. She was awarded a doctorate for her thesis on the cultural and media history of two-dimensionality at the Humboldt University Berlin, gaining her professorship with a monograph on the relationship between Jules Verne’s science fiction and Alexander von Humboldt at the Leuphana University of Lüneberg. From 2012 to 2019 she taught at the Zeppelin University as professor for media theory and from 2019 she will teach at the University of Art and Design Linz. In the summer of 2019, her monograph Inseln und Meere: Zur Geschichte und Geografie fluider Grenzen will be published by Matthes & Seitz Verlag Berlin.
