Readings

On six Thursdays, HKW invites you to gather around literary topics and writings. Berlin authors will query various genres, forms, and writing styles about their abilities to make the world readable: What metaphors are used for speculative literature? Is there anything new to say about the chicken and egg dilemma? Can you tell the story of your life based on books you have or haven’t read? And does anyone still believe in the transformative power of literature? In readings, performances, listening sessions, and roundtables, the participants transmit the intimacy of reading to the social space, thus highlighting the dialogue aspect of contemporary literature. Because writing always wants to be a conversation – a conversation that’s not already taking place, but could.
