The starting point of this volume are forgotten photographs from a Lebanese newspaper no longer in circulation. Looking at these photographs of airplane hijackings that took place between 1968 and 1970, Perhaps this is not the time… interrogates the status of images as appearance, representation, projection, capture, incarnation. and evidence. The book is the outcome of a first encounter with the unsettling imprints of traumatizing and violent events that aspires to re-think how people look at images that don’t fit with prevailing perceptions and narratives of collective memory.
