Archives are places that perpetuate power relations and in which the canon and patterns of thought are consolidated for the future. At the same time, archives are the foundation from which the search for new narratives must begin to reflect current profound transformations of all spheres of life. For The Whole Life. An Archive Project, artists explored actual archives, each using their own strategies and methods of artistic research. Their work resulted in eight installations throughout HKW in which they explore new perspectives on their holdings and contexts as well as new possibilities for encounters.
