A journey inside the largest contemporary goldmine, deep in the Brazilian Amazon region: in the year 1980, word of the greatest gold rush ofthe twentieth century reaches São Paulo. Juliano (Juliano Cazarré) and Joaquim (Júlio Andrade) set out, hoping to attain their dream of gold. The two arrive in the Brazilian rainforest along with thousands more men. The hard life in the mines changes everything. Their obsession with wealth and power grasps the men and threatens their friendship. With monumental images and a star-studded cast (co-starring Wagner Moura and Matheus Nachtergaele) director Heitor Dhalia tells a story of gold and greed, friendship and violence.
