Is resistance possible or ? is a guided tour focused on feminist critique of surveillance; a situation of a mobile seminar/ discussion, rather than a lecture. Departing from Foucault’s critique of the repressive hypothesis, we will look at the more contemporary transformations of the sovereign power, in which the caring and affective aspects take place of the formerly paternal strategies. What can resist the caring gaze of the (maternal) Leviathan?

Dr. Ewa Majewska is a feminist philosopher of culture. She is an author of two books: Feminizm jako filozofia społeczna and Sztuka jako pozór? and co-editor of two volumes on neoliberalism and politics.
She published in: e-flux, Signs. Journal of Women in Culture and Society, Nowa Krytyka, Praktyka Teoretyczna, Kultura Wspolczesna, Le Monde Diplomatique (PL). She is currently a fellow at the ICI Berlin, working on Semi-Peripheral counterpublics.
