Shimmering documentary featuring interviews with musicians from Bunny Wailer to Capleton to Lady Saw

Reggae is Jamaica’s blues: The songs are about hope and despair, about slavery and liberation, about sex, love and Rastafarian spirituality. This is where the dancehall and dub scenes and their dance styles developed. Beginning with the death of the dancehall superstar Bogle, the shimmering documentary spans all these trends. Interviews with musicians from Gregory Isaacs and Bunny Wailer to Capleton to Lady Saw and their rousing performances testify to an up-to-the-minute, vibrant and politically aware scene.
