The five young members of a Paris commune are united by their dissatisfaction with prevailing political circumstances and their desire for a socialist revolution. To put their plans into action, they do not shy from violence, refer to Mao’s Little Red Book and ultimately fail to live up to their own demands.

Jean-Luc Godard’s experimental film essay breaks with common narrative methods and is regarded as the turning point in his cinematic work.
