Those whose aim is to gather likes and shares on social media are too often guided by conventional body ideals. The omnipresence of standardized, technically altered bodies on social media also pressures users. The standardized images promote shame and self-doubt about one’s own body. How can physical ideals be questioned and overcome? What effect do body positivity and wellbeing trends have in this context? How can we succeed in accepting the uniqueness of our own and others’ bodies?

With Magda Albrecht (author, political consultant), Maryam Haschemi Yekani (attorney, BeNeDisk), Nemi El-Hassan (journalist, Jäger und Sammler), Kristina Vasilevskaja (student), moderator: Imke Schmincke (sociologist)
