This year’s shortlist for the Internationaler Literaturpreis is comprised of six books that take a critical and empathetic look at the now.

The book awarded the 2022 Internationaler Literaturpreis will be announced on June 22 in the presence of the awardees on HKW’s roof terrace.

The evening will open with a reading performance. Actors Zeynep Bozbay, Jonas Grundner-Culemann, Banafshe Hourmazdi, Anne Kulbatzki, Abak Safaei-Rad and Falilou Seck will read excerpts from the six shortlisted books. Afterwards, Robin Detje and Heike Geißler will hold a laudatory speech for the awardees and present them with the prize. In a joint discussion with the author and translator, the jury will present the prizewinning title and talk to the duo about the work and its translation.
