The Berlin fashion scene is characterized by radical streetwear, young ateliers working across national borders, and high-end hybrid design, all inspired by the transformative power of the metropolis.

For the first time, the Haus der Kulturen der Welt is collaborating with the city’s fashion schools to illuminate the concentrated creative potential of budding designers from various nations. The interdisciplinary project of the Mediadesign Hochschule Berlin on “fashion and its transformation through media” will kick of the events: What happens to the “real” clothing in the process of its representation and marketing in the media?
