David Rothenberg, the author of Why Birds Sing, has not only documented and analyzed the most lyric expressions of fauna around the world, he also has engaged in musical dialogue with the greatest (and smallest) masters of music from the animal kingdom, playing as an underwater clarinetist with humpback whales and jamming with Australian lyre birds.
