20-21h Zeitkratzer: Electronic Archeology

Top-flight soloists merge into a seamless ensemble to explore the corporeality of sound: Zeitkratzer works the lines of connection between acoustics and amplification, highbrow and lowbrow, the canon and radical contemporary music, white noise and total silence. Their repertoire: pieces by Iannis Xenakis, Lou Reed, Keiji Haino, and John Cage. The program “Electronic Archeology” is based on sonic research carried out in the electronic music studios of Eastern Europe.

21-22.30h Felix Kubin and Mitch & Mitch

Solitary bedroom producer meets polyphonic big band: Inspired by the work of the BBC Radiophonic Workshops, Polish and Czech film soundtracks, easy listening, musique concrète, and various other bizarre style icons, Hamburg electronaut Felix Kubin and the ominous ninepiece Warsaw orchestra Mitch & Mitch have created an album of utilitarian music for universal use in all of life’s situations.
