France/Algeria 2006, 97 Min, German subtitles

Amel’s husband, an Islamist-critical journalist, disappears without a trace in the middle of the Algerian Civil War. The young emergency doctor sets out to find him and is joined by Khadidja, an energetic older nurse. The women journey on their own, driven by their anger at the circumstances in the country. When they are taken captive by an underground Islamist organization, Khadidja becomes aware of her destiny in the struggle for independence. A story of feminine strength and the courage to resist.
