Sena Dagadu is a singer and performer who draws upon the musical tapestries of Ghana and Hungary in her electrifying artistry. With roots deeply planted in the vibrant rhythms of Accra and the eclectic beats of Budapest, her music is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. A musical chameleon, in her work Dagadu incorporates reggae, hip-hop, rock, pop, disco, and gospel, captivating audiences with her soulful voice and energetic stage presence.
Dagadu comes to HKW with her Dagadub Trio, with Márton Élő at the keyboard and mix table and Ákos Pásztor on flute. They are joined by a special guest: the Berlin-based percussionist Eric Owusu. The trio eschew the typical three-minute song pattern, instead making use of repetition and variation to place an emphasis on slowing down and looking around in an endlessly accelerated world.
