Almut Sülzle is an ethnographer and football researcher. She studied empirical cultural science in Tübingen, researched masculinities, queer hostility, and sexism on football pitches, in fan blocks, in fanzines, and at street festivals and now works as a researcher at the Kompetenzgruppe Fankulturen und sportbezogene Soziale Arbeit (KoFaS gGmbH). Her most recent publications include Schwule? Bei uns? Kein Thema! Sportartkultur und Homophobie im österreichischen Vereinssport (Gays? With us? Not an issue! Sporting culture and homophobia in Austrian club sport, with Nikola Staritz, 2019). Sülzle lives and works in Berlin.
