Amina Agueznay (1963, Casablanca, Morocco) is a multidisciplinary artist who combines pattern structures, reinterpreted traditional mediums, and collective participation in pieces that vary in scale from minute to monumental. After studying architecture in the US and ten years of practice in Washington DC and New York, Agueznay returned to Morocco to conduct extensive research into traditional artisanal design practices. Recent exhibitions include Our Land Just Like a Dream, MACAAL, Marrakech, 2022; Manifesto of Fragility, Biennale de Lyon, 2022; and Portals, Palacio Cadaval, Evora, 2022. Agueznay was the Artistic Director of Bahrain’s Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2021. She lives and works in Marrakech.
