David Edgar

David Edgar is a PhD candidate in the Anthropology department at University College London. He has recently completed fifteen months of fieldwork investigating sports and fitness practices in Colombia, focusing on how they produce ‘affective communities’. He was previously Curator of Public Programmes at the British Film Institute (2012–2018) and subsequently oversaw the Royal Anthropological Institute Film Festival. He completed his first short film Fieldnotes from Limanakia in 2022 and is working on an experimental ethnographic film-installation as part of his doctoral research project. He lives and works in London and Medellin.
