Diego Araúja
Diego Araúja is a director, playwright, screenwriter, scenographer, and visual artist, and holds a degree in Performing Arts from the Federal University of Bahia. His production is derived from literary writing and takes on a hybrid form between performing, audiovisual, and visual arts, and literature. He directs the process of Tempo Crioulo (Creole Time), to establish a qualitative time that allows the production of emancipated Afro-diasporic memories. He founded the ÀRÀKÁ Platform with artist Laís Machado and participated in festivals and exhibitions worldwide. He is currently participating in the 35th Bienal de São Paulo. Araúja lives and works in Salvador de Bahia.
