Dorothy Iannone (1933–2002) was an artist. She started her practice in the 1960s making vivid and energetic paintings, drawings, prints, videos, and objects portraying figures in situations of physical union and ecstasy. Throughout her practice, she fought for freedom and challenged contemporary culture and censorship. Her numerous solo exhibitions include retrospectives at Museum of Contemporary Art, Antwerp, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, and Berlinische Galerie, as well as solo presentations at several museums. Her work is included in numerous international collections.
