Galo E. Rivera (she/he) is an Ecuadorian-born immunologist, web developer, and audiovisual artist. Rivera’s research is concerned with the construction of identities on different levels: on a cellular basis with microscopes, on an individual basis with cameras and on a collective basis through the lens of a projector. Rivera is currently project coordinator and curator at Sinema Transtopia in Berlin. Rivera studied biology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and received a doctorate in immunology from Humboldt University in Berlin. Rivera’s most recent project is the film series SOCIO-FICCIÓN, Sinema Transtopia, 2024. Rivera lives and works in Berlin.
