Iuliia Glushneva is a media scholar whose research centers on transnational economies and cultures around small screens, from television to videotape to streaming platforms. She holds a PhD in Film and Moving Image Studies from Concordia University and is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. Her current projects include Between Salon and Bazaar: Soviet Videocassette and (Un)Making of Socialist Cultures of Circulation (2025) and Sentimental Education Across the Borders: Hindi Television Melodrama and Translation Cultures on the Russophone Web (2024). Glushneva lives and works in Montréal, Canada.
