Jimmy Ong (he) is an artist. He studied at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and for two decades has been making drawings of reimagination as a gay Chinese son. His work Seamstresses’ Raffleses (2016) stems from a body of installation and performance as exorcism of inner colonisation in his birthplace of Singapore. Recent works include KiapKiap Revolution, Esplanade, Singapore, 2023; and Nothing is Forever, National Gallery, Singapore, 2023. Ong lives and works between Yogyakarta and Singapore.
