Juan Betancurth is a visual artist who lives and works in Bogotá. His practice explores the dynamics of power and desire between subjects and objects through bodily and performative interactions. These games and exchanges shape sculptural and installation situations, working on aspects such as objecthood, objectification, fetish, cruelty, consent, care, liberating profit, and the semiotics of BDSM. His work addresses labour, social performativities, queerness, and class. His work has been exhibited internationally in countries such as Canada, Peru, Germany and Finland, among others.
