Lerato Shadi is an artist who studied visual art at the University of Johannesburg and Spatial Strategies at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin. She is works across video, performance, and installation and often employs repetitive processes. Her work challenges common assumptions to critique Western notions of history and make visible that which is invisible or overlooked. Her art has been exhibited internationally, including at Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Musée d’art Moderne de Paris, and at the 14th Curitiba Biennial in Brazil. Shadi lives and works in Berlin.
