Marilú Mmaapengo Námoda is a visionary artist, healer, and post-activist whose work explores the politics of birthing futures. Their research focuses on love as a cosmic-political force to heal humanity’s wound, expressed through the (neo)colonial impacts of racism, cis-hetero-patriarchy, and classism. Their practice interweaves performance and installation art, animist astrology, storytelling, Bantu writing symbols, and healing work. Recent performances include Mom, I* am no longer black, Santarcangelo Festival, 2022, and Emergencies, Kaserne Basel, an ongoing project with Teresa Vittucci. Námoda lives and works between Porto and Quelimane.
