Murni (I Gusti Ayu Kadek Murniasih) (1966–2006) was an artist whose work depicts female sexuality, featuring fluid lines and bright colors, presenting scenes that range from mundane activities to snippets of her biographical accounts as a survivor of sexual abuse, as well as the worlds she encountered in dreams. She was trained in the Pengosekan school of painting by I Dewa Putu Mokoh, yet largely remained self-taught in developing her distinctive style. Her work achieved great acclaim internationally and is shown in exhibitions all over the world.
