Nádia Taquary completed postgraduate studies in education, aesthetics, semiotics, and culture at the Federal University of Bahia. She was born, lives and works in Salvador, which is a great African diaspora. She highlights black female protagonism and ancestral heritage, disputing Eurocentric and patriarchal narratives that have historically obstructed access to crucial knowledge and understanding of this rich pre-colonial African legacy. Her art was featured in museums like Instituto Inhotim, Pérez Art Museum Miami, and Museum of Art and Design, New York. Recent works include the project show Òná Írín: Caminho de Ferro, MUNCAB - National Museum of Afro-Brazilian Culture, Salvador, 2024.
