Since the late 1990s, Korean-Dutch artist Sara Sejin Chang (Sara van der Heide) has created a rich body of work that traverses an array of formats and mediums, including immersive film- and sound installations, text, and painting. Chang combines spiritual evocations, historical research, and the unravelling of colonial narratives creating works that act as historical repair, healing, and belonging. Sara Sejin Chang (Sara van der Heide) was a fellow of the Berlin Artistic Research Grant Programme (2022-2023). Her recent solo exhibitions have been shown at Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2022–23); Centraal Museum, Annex, Utrecht (2023); Rozenstraat | a rose is a rose is a rose, Amsterdam (2023); ARGOS, Brussels, (2021); CASCO | Hartwig Art Foundation, Utrecht (2021). Her works has been part of numerous group exhibitions and biennials amongst others, at the  Busan Biennale, Busan (2022), 11th Berlin Biennale, Berlin (2020); Dhaka Art Summit, Dhaka (2020), Contour Biennale 9, Mechelen (2019); 6th Kuandu Biennale, Taipei (2018); Sharjah Biennial 13, Beirut (2017); and the 1st Asia Biennial/the 5th Guangzhou Triennial, Guangzhou (2016). She lives and works in Berlin.
