Sekibakiba Lekgoathi is Associate Professor of History at Wits University. A Fulbright-MacArthur scholar with a PhD from the University of Minnesota, he studies the history of radio in South Africa both as a tool of oppression and liberation. He has co-edited Guerrilla Radios in Southern Africa: Broadcasters, Technology, Propaganda Wars (2020) and published various papers investigating the interplay of ethnicity, identity, politics, and radio. Lekgoathi lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa.
