Sofia Borges is a sound creator, percussionist, composer, and improviser renowned for her eclectic international projects. She expands established languages with graphic notations and by blending conventional and self-made instruments, music boxes, toys, analog and digital electronic devices, and field recordings. She has written for and shared stage with musicians like Craig Taborn, Robyn Schulkowsky, and Axel Dörner, among others. Her artistic work extends to dance and theatre, cementing her reputation as a boundary-pushing artist. Borges lives and works in Berlin.
