Ana Lupas is an artist. Her oeuvre spans over almost seven decades. She used over 80 different working materials in her works, including textile. She forged her own path, sometimes tangent with the modern avantgarde, land art, Arte povera, other times creating an incisive commentary and a covert resistance to the constraints of an oppressive communist dictatorship. Lupas graduated from the Institute of Arts ‘Ion Andreescu’ in Cluj. Her works have been shown at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; and Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, among others. Lupas lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
