Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim
Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim is a film-maker whose work amplifies marginalized voices through authentic storytelling, with a focus on themes of queer love, friendships, identity, and joy. Her films celebrate the complexities of queer experiences while challenging societal norms and creating space for underrepresented narratives. She holds a degree in Radio, Television, and Film Studies and is passionate about using cinema as a platform for visibility and connection. Recent works include 14 Years and a Day (2023), a film exploring queer love, identity, and resilience and Ife (2020), a story about lesbian love in Nigeria. Ikpe-Etim lives and works between Toronto, Canada, and Lagos, Nigeria.
