Vanessa Vu

Vanessa Vu grew up in Bavaria as a daughter of Vietnamese refugees and works as a journalist. In reportages, essays, and a series of talks at the Schaubühne Berlin, she deals with plural society and social justice. Her first book, Komm dahin, wo es still ist, was published in 2024. In the form of an exchange of letters with her partner Ahmad Katlesh, she explores the traces of war, displacement, and asylum along their own biographies. Previously, she was one of the voices behind Rice and Shine, a podcast for Vietnamese-German stories and perspectives. Vu lives and works in Berlin.
