Yuji Tamaki
Yuji Tamaki (1916–1979) was a painter and educator whose work engaged the traditional genres of landscape, still life, and portraiture. He studied painting with Yoshiya Takaoka under Bruno Lechowski in Rio de Janeiro and co-founded the Seibi-Kai association in 1935. Tamaki was known for painting synthetic and lyrical compositions that occasionally flirted with abstraction, and exhibited his work in the Salão Paulista de Belas Artes, the Salão Nacional de Belas Artes, and the Salão Seibi.
