Cami Layé Okún is a DJ, researcher, and avid record collector who travels around the world sharing musical gems she has gathered. For the Echos der Bruderländer opening she plays a DJ set spotlighting records that she found in her native Cuba. Many of these records have made their way to the island through the efforts of former internationalist combatants—militants who actively participated in the independence struggles of Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, and Guinea-Bissau. A rich, dynamic sonic experience celebrating global solidarity, liberation movements, and resilience.
