The award ceremony announcing the prize winner begins with a musical performance by the composer, performer, and violinist Ali Moraly, followed by a welcome speech from the director and chief curator of Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Prof Dr Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung.

Jury members Asal Dardan and Cia Rinne then announce the winner and present the laudatory speech and prize. Following this, fellow jury members Khuê Phạm and Olga Radetzkaja join a discussion with the author and translator about the prize-winning work and its translation.

The evening concludes with a DJ set by Platida.
