The installation is activated by two artist talks on 12.04.2025 (in English) and 19.04.2025 (in German).
Drawing from different strands of research, Memories of a Time When All Successful Revolutions Were Made By the Message of the Poets (2025–) is an installation by researcher and artist Moses März, made up of nine interconnected maps which explore the connections between movements and histories that tend to be seen separately from one another, serving as a bridge between historical and contemporary perspectives. Encompassing anti-colonial movements, Black radical traditions, the European avant-garde, cultural journals, and jazz, among others, these maps explore the intersection between intellectuals, spaces, and movements across time and space. Through a dynamic interplay of archival materials, cartographic experiments, and newly commissioned works, the installation reimagines Surrealist mapping as a living, evolving practice.
The installation is accompanied by a booklet and an audio guide.
