Nga Alima Madeleine Pélagie is an artist and singer. Her father comes from the Ntumu tribes of Southern Cameroon and her mother from the Bënë (Mvog Manga) tribes of Central Cameroon. Her singing is inspired by her grandmother, and all the ills that plague Africa. Pélagie creates a melodious cocktail of songs bursting with melancholy and hope. She has made a name for herself as one of Cameroon's new music stars. In her work she combines mantra, conjuration, and invocation, which is characteristic of the essence of Fang-Beti music, the ethnic group from which she comes and from which she draws her inspiration. Pélagie lives and works in Cameroon.
