In the run-up to the German federal election on 23 February, it seems clear that the result will be challenging for all those in Germany who are committed to a progressive, inclusive, and non-violent pluralistic democracy. It is foreseeable that there will be plenty of reasons for anger, bewilderment, or sadness on election night. That’s why we want to come together and shout, cry, discuss, laugh, hope, drink, and dance—and show that we are fighting for pluralistic democracy. That we will not give up, neither before nor after the election.

HKW invites you to a Public Screaming to follow the first projections, results, and post-election statements. These will be commented on live in front of an audience, there will be discussion rounds, live music by Berlin hip hop band The Swag, and lots of collective emotion.

HKW is calling on everyone to become active and fight together for democracy: every voice, every discussion, and every contribution counts in order to take a clear stance against marginalization, right-wing violence, and anti-democratic tendencies.

Further Public Screamings happen at the following locations:
FFT Düsseldorf, Kammerspiele München / Habibi Kiosk, Kampnagel Hamburg, KoalaKollektiv Frankfurt am Main, Schauspiel Dortmund, PACT Zollverein Essen, Studio Literatur und Theater Tübingen in Kooperation mit Club Voltaire, Theater Konstanz
